Sketchbooks are an integral part of my practice. They've been bought from all the corners of the world. Some are your old fashioned reliable Moleskins, while others were hastily crafted together while queueing to get into a nightclub so I had some kind of mini-sketchbook in my pocket - while entering nightclubs which would take your phones from you upon entry, in Berlin for example. Inside, it goes without saying are often remnants of my lifeblood. There's things I've scrapbooked - like wasps accidentally killed while drinking Aperol Spritz in the gardens of Versaille - things I've dreamed and blind drawings I've been able to take down on to paper I've people I've spotted while on aeroplanes, boats and trains. This is of course a selection of just a few, there are around 100 of these puppies stored away which can be opened when I'm dead.
