I once heard a story about the NYC blackout in Genevieve's kitchen. I could never look at the building quite the same again knowing firstly that the man who sat before me had spent a night sleeping under his desk - probably hardly comfortable - in one of the most illustrated buildings in the world aaaannnddd the fact that there weren't always elevators in this building. Once upon a time you could fetch an office on the upper floors for cheaper than those close to street level all for the sake of having to run a tremendous number of flights of stairs each day.
